The Arts & Well-being Gathering is a community of artists, arts-based practitioners and those working in the healing arts in the Hudson Valley and environs of New York who gather monthly to share our work, research, and practices in artmaking as wellbeing. Founded in March 2025, this open collective operates without formal membership or nonprofit status, creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where diverse healing arts practitioners can freely exchange their expertise in a playful and accessible environment. We have professionals and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines, including psychotherapy, somatic work, sound healing, music, dance and movement therapy, breathwork, storytelling, dreamwork, and various forms of energy work, all united by shared values around the therapeutic power of creative expression in community.
Rather than meeting in one fixed location, the group intentionally moves throughout the Hudson Valley to discover and connect with the region's magical places and like-minded practitioners who share their commitment to healing arts. This ever-evolving, growing community attracts professionals from across numerous Hudson Valley counties, including Ulster, Orange, and Dutchess, among others. Being that several of our members (including us, the founders) are certified Deep Listening® facilitators, we have immutable connections to Kingston, where the founders of Deep Listening® (Pauline Oliveros and Ione) have lived and still provide resources for the global DL community. We continue to develop gathering points within the Kingston and Ulster county areas to ensure our collective maintains accessibility to as many people as possible.
